Film

Hello again.
In this post I’ll tell you about a movie that I really like: “Palmeras en la Nieve”.
I like this movie because it mixes a love story with processes or historical moments. In addition, it tells the story in two periods or time, past and present, then I find it much more interesting, as there is a mystery between both time that has to be discovered.
Palmeras en la Nieve it is about two brothers traveling from de Pyrenees of Huesca to the Spanish colony of Fernando Poo (now Bioko), island of Equatorial Guinea, to work on a cocoa plantation. In this place, Kilian falls in love a native woman, but this was a forbidden love because at the time certain lines or cultures could not be crossed, that is, they should not be together.
Later, half a century later, Clarence discovers a forgotten letter for years that drives her to travel to Bioko in order to visit the land where his father Jacobo and uncle Kilian had spent their youth and try to solve the familiar riddles and secrets of what happened.
One of the my favorite scenes is when Kilian and the native woman do a ritual that consisted of a marriage that has no value before the law but does before them selves.
Its director is Fernando González Molina and the protagonists are played by Mario Casas, Berta Vásquez and Adriana Ugarte.
If you want to watch it you can find it on Netflix.
